Root Canal Therapy

What is a root canal?

Inside the tooth, there is a pulp chamber with blood vessels and nerves. If a cavity reaches the pulp chamber or if a tooth is broken, bacteria can get into this pulp and cause an infection. If this happens, it is mandatory to treat the infected tooth with a root canal treatment. If the infected pulp isn’t removed, it can lead to an abscess.

What is the procedure for a root canal?

If you are getting a root canal treatment, Dr. Issa will make sure that your numb in that area. Dr. Issa will drill a small hole in the top of the tooth so he can remove the infected pulp. Then he will clean the inside of the tooth. He will fill the inside of the tooth with a special material. After that, he will place a crown over the tooth to protect it.
